Samantha Orr and her mom Jennifer were driving and chatting on their trip to the Rocky Mountains, Colorado when the tragic accident occurred.
A big rock suddenly fell down in front of their car, causing it to lose balance and fall 600 feet down a hillside off Iron Chest Road in Chaffee County.
Samantha, 21, had her ribs and vertebrae damaged. Her mother, unfortunately, was unable to survive. The other member that stayed in their car at that time, one-year-old Goldendoodle Bentley, went missing as the vehicle started to roll.
As Samatha revealed, she saw the dog fly out of the vehicle and panicky run down the hill. But she was too weak to do anything to help him.
Samantha's treatment took a while but in the meantime, the woman started to find her missing Bentley. Her family created “Bring Bentley Home” Facebook page in which they later posted flyers asking for help to find the dog.

Within two weeks, there was no sign of hope, but Samantha remained her belief that the dog was alive somewhere and still waiting for her.
“We know he is still out there and scared,” she wrote in a Facebook post. “We need to get Bentley back home to Kansas to his grieving family.”
Her post approached Joseph Strattman from northern Colorado, who decided to drive for hours to help with the search. He finally found Bentley on his way up to the mountain and alerted Samantha, which led them to the most emotional reunion ever.

Within two weeks, there was no sign of hope, but Samantha remained her belief that the dog was alive somewhere and still waiting for her.The video below shows traumatized Bentley hesitantly walking to his owner as he recognized her. Giving him some food and toys, Samantha said "it's momma..." so that her dog was completely persuaded to come to her. He was dehydrated and malnourished, but no wound could be found on his body - what a miracle!

The two came back to their home in Kansas, and the dog was nursed back to health. Samantha showed warm gratitude for Joseph for helping her find Bentley and giving them an opportunity to reunite.
"He's safe and he's coming home," she shared "I am so happy. He just warms my heart, feels like home again."
