Company Thought That It Could Take Employee's Program After He Left, But There's No Way
People should be careful when it comes to intellectual property. Better safe than sorry. We should always have a backup plan in case anything goes wrong. For example, a company decided to let go of all older employees to make room for "new blood." And yet, the company wanted to keep all technologies and programs of those employees, saying that these were "company's properties." But of course, these were not.
It sounds utterly unfair and illogical, but this happens a lot. Redditor Wintertodt shared a similar story where their company wanted to keep their game-changing program after getting rid of them. Regardless of the fact that the program was the employee's personal property, built and developed by themselves, the company claimed to own that. However, even though the company thought that they could easily have that tech, nothing was that fast. Without the employee's supervision, the program collapsed after just a few weeks. And that's when things got more interesting.
