Have you ever believed everything you see in a movie, no matter how unrealistic it is? The director of photography shows only so much that goes on in a movie set. So, they are supposed to make us believe the unbelievable. Sometimes, we get carried away by a movie so much that we think a flying man, a wizard, or talking aliens don’t look strange at all.
Creating believable illusions isn’t a piece of cake. Directors, scriptwriters, costume and makeup artists are ready to do a lot to create images as authentic as possible on the big screen. For movie buffs, most of the DVDs feature the behind-the-scene section, showing how the filmmakers managed to deceive you. Even then, you rarely get to see the “true” making of the film.
