14 Similarities Between "Wednesday" and "Harry Potter" That All of Us Missed

"Wednesday" is breaking records for viewership since it is so well-liked. And if you are watching it on Netflix and feels like the Harry Potter films are coming to mind, believe us, you're not the only one! There are many motifs and details in Wednesday that are similar to how the enduringly popular Harry Potter films were developed. There are many parallels between them that we have discovered, but we think they only improve the series.
On "Wednesday", the lead role is played by none other than Jenna Ortega. Wednesday is a teenage girl who is remarkably smart and falls for the mystical appeal of her school. Along the way, she has to deal with obnoxious bullies, a demanding family, and even a few romantic adventures. Larissa Weems was portrayed as Nevermore's nice principal. She did everything she could to protect the children and the school's image. But it's difficult to ignore the reality that she twisted the truth.
The principal of Hogwarts, Albus Dumbledore, was not a simple man. He was gentle and always stood by his students. But not everything he did was positive.

#6 Secret rooms.

Secret rooms in magic schools are probably quite common. They can be found at both Nevermore and Hogwarts. Wednesday discovered the chamber of a private club called Belladonna that most students are unaware of. And Harry found the rumored Chamber of Secrets, which only a few individuals knew how to access.

#7 Spider on the desk.

Spiders visit Hermione's and Wednesday's desks during class. It appears in the series from Xavier's drawing, and it was given to the pupils in the film by Moody, but the scenes are extremely similar. Spiders have the same fate.

Every year, there is a ball in Nevermore, but it is not the same at Hogwarts. It appeared only once in Harry Potter, during the Triwizard Tournament. But the balls were still quite similar. With snowy decorations all around and a great DJ or band performing on stage, the teachers are awkward.

#11 The main villain’s resurrection.

The story's antagonists are Joseph Crackstone and Voldemort. Everyone believes they are both gone when the story begins. But, due to their followers, they rise from the grave and attempt to carry out their evil plans.

#12 The school that remembers the parents.

Harry and Wednesday arrived at the school where their parents had previously attended. And they were both astonished by what they discovered. Wednesday claimed that whenever she found a photo of Morticia, her mother's judgmental look followed her around. And Harry was taken aback when Hermione showed him the badge of James Potter, indicating that he, too, was a Gryffindor seeker.

#13 Unexpected “gifts” from parents.

On his first Christmas at Hogwarts, Harry received a special gift from his father: an Invisibility Cloak. Later, he used it in his adventures, and it isn't easy to imagine how things would have turned out if he didn't have it.
Wednesday was gifted the Thing by her parents. He was supposed to keep an eye on the child and how she was settling in. But she persuaded him to work for her, and he was quite helpful. He might read a book, assist her in hiding, or look for help.

#14 Werewolves.

Werewolves in magical stories are nothing out of the ordinary. However, have a look at how the changes were displayed. Professor Lupin in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, and Enid on Wednesday. The camera views are nearly identical and can be used interchangeably.
