Tattoo, an appaloosa horse, stands out with his stunning and dazzling coat. His skin is adorned with spotted patterns like a leopard. Undoubtedly, no one can take their eyes off him when they first see his outstanding appearance.
Branigan, Tattoo’s owner, shared that she first met this cutie when she was a Sophomore in college working at a breeder barn as an intern. She learned how to take care of pregnant mares there, and fate had given her a chance to meet Tattoo.

“Tattoo came into this world on May 18, and his mama gave birth to him early in the morning,” she remembers. “I met baby Tattoo when he was only one hour old, soaking wet and learning to stand.”
The name “Tattoo”, meaning “a rhythmic tapping or drumming” was given to the horse by Branigan’s mother since “the sight of him literally throws my heart into drumming, ever since I met him.”

“I was in the stall, holding Tattoo in my lap, crying my eyes out,” Branigan says. “I was madly in love at first sight. They both said, ‘Oh, no…’ We all knew that raising and training my own horse was my dream, but this foal was not mine, but deep in my heart I knew that I wanted him to be.”

Branigan and Tattoo soon became best friends, and the duo was often seen cuddling together. Branigan even was allowed to halter Tattoo- placing the strap around his neck- when he was only three weeks old.

However, after six months, Branigan suddenly knew her friend had been sold. She felt terribly shocked and sad because she only had two months left to be with her best friend.

She felt despondent until Christmas when she was gifted a portrait of Tattoo. She cried her eyes out immediately before noticing the “transfer of ownership” written below the picture. It turned out that her parents bought Tattoo to surprise her on this occasion. Branigan was absolutely over the moon when she knew she would have lots of fun with her horse from now on.

Branigan has had plenty of “first” experiences with Tattoo, and it seems there are a lot more. At the moment, the beautiful horse enjoys his life to the fullest and loves trying new things with his beloved owner.
