Wonderful Moment: Cheetah Lies Beside the Photographer And Lets Him Pat Her Head

There is a widespread belief that wild animals such as tigers, lions, and cheetahs are aggressive and dangerous. Nevertheless, only those who truly love nature and are willing to spend time exploring wildlife understand that this is not the case. All animals, no matter their size or appearance—from the tiniest to the largest, from the cutesy to the terrifying—are wonderful. Once they are aware that you don't intend to hurt them, they might be just as soft and lovely as your domestic pets. Such as this incredible encounter, in which a photographer found himself lying side by side with a cheetah on an African game reserve.

German photographer Chris Du Plessis, 39, snapped this amazing picture at the Tshukudu Game Lodge in Hoedspruit, South Africa. He used a remote device to record himself working alongside the large wild cat. Fortunately, the majestic cat didn't seem to be interested in pursuing the man standing by her side.

Chris explained that Mtombi is a rescued cheetah at Tshukudu Game Lodge's Marula Camp. Even though she is accustomed to the camp, the lovely cheetah still roams free and goes on her own hunts. He described the mesmerizing experience: “The loud sound of her purr is just amazing, and I could feel her warm body against me; I could feel she was relaxed with me next to her.”

He was expecting an attack, but surprisingly, he was able to lie comfortably beside Mtombi for about five minutes.
