Woman Overcomes Her Fear To Rescue Desperate Skunk Trapped In Coke Can

Sometimes, people are careless with what they do because they rarely imagine the potentially grave consequences of their acts. Someone throwing a Coca-Cola can on the sidewalk probably thinks their action is harmless since sooner or later, the trash will be collected by cleaning staff. In fact, they might indirectly pose a threat to wildlife around that area, like in the story below. The miserable skunk in this post might have been killed by a Coke can if this brave and kindhearted woman hadn’t shown up.

One day, Roxane Delaire, a Canadian resident, noticed something strange on the way home. She stopped her car to observe more closely and saw a skunk desperately struggling with an aluminum can. Her head was trapped in the trash, and getting out of it on her own seemed hopeless.

While Delaire could turn a blind eye toward the animal and head for home, hoping the skunk to be helped by someone else, she decided to become the animal’s heroine. It was definitely not an easy choice, because she had to try several times to overcome the fear of getting sprayed. Luckily, the deadly piece of litter was finally removed from the skunk’s head. Without the woman’s help, the poor animal might not have survived for long.

Delaire then shared her story on social media, earning lots of applause from online people. That said, the experience itself seemed to be a fulfilling reward. "It was a really nice moment," Delaire wrote.
