Woman Is Heartbroken To Notice Someone Tiny Trembling With Fear On Highways
The highway is not a safe place for animals to stay. But recently, a little cat was spotted standing alone on a highway. Nobody knows why he entered this perilous situation; nonetheless, anyone could tell he was terrified just by the look in his eyes, and it was truly heartbreaking to witness that. Luckily, a good Samaritan came across this road, and it’s such a relief that the cat is now in good care and protection.

A seemingly ordinary afternoon turned into an extraordinary rescue mission for Marc Alba. Just when she thought her day of helping feral cats was over, fate had other plans. Spotting a small tabby kitten standing on its hind legs, screaming towards the oncoming traffic on a long stretch of overpass, Alba knew she couldn't ignore the perilous situation. Therefore, without hesitation, he pulled over and rushed to save the terrified kitten.
“While driving on a long stretch of overpass on my way home, I saw a small tabby kitten standing on his hind legs, screaming towards the oncoming traffic,” Alba told The Dodo, an animal channel. “I knew if I didn't stop, not only was there a slim possibility he would be saved, but it would surely haunt me for the rest of my life.”

Alba approached the terrified kitten with caution, understanding that he was running out of time. She managed to scoop the little feline into his arms, clutching him tightly while waiting for a safe moment to cross back to his car. Despite the countless passing cars, not a single driver stopped to offer assistance.
“I was horrified to see him there, and it felt like time stopped,” Alba said. “In my panic, I didn't even think to grab my gloves or any kind of blanket to help grab him. I tried to corner him with my feet so he wouldn't run toward the traffic, and I managed to scruff him up into my arms. I stood there clutching him and muttering things to try and keep him (and myself) calm while waiting for a moment to cross back and race to my car. I was probably on the side of the overpass for about three minutes, and hundreds of cars passed by — nobody stopped.”

The rescued kitten was visibly shaken, but he then found solace in the comforting silence of Alba's car. Not long after the rescue, he was given the name Dodger. Though a little beat up from his ordeal, the kitten was lucky to have no major injuries. However, a visit to the vet revealed a fractured tail that may require future amputation, but for now, all he needs is rest and care to heal.
“He was unsurprisingly terrified of me, but I think he was more scared of the cars racing by,” Alba said. “Once we got into the car, the silence immediately comforted him. He didn't cry or try to get out of my grasp. His poor little heart was racing. He got a little more nervous once I started the engine but was overall very calm. His claws were run down into little nubs from all his efforts to try and climb the concrete.”

After a potentially tragic beginning on the highway, Dodger is now thriving in the safety of Alba's foster home. With newfound love and attention, Dodger enjoys every moment of his second chance at life. Moreover, Alba always remains by his side and provides him the care he needs while eagerly awaiting the day Dodger finds his forever family. For now, Dodger is enjoying the warmth of love, a far cry from the fearful existence he once experienced on that perilous overpass.

“Dodger is doing phenomenal,” Alba said. “Once we got home, he slept like a rock. Poor baby was just happy to be in a quiet, cozy space.”
