Morgan Atha, on an afternoon in August 2022, took a glance at the footage of her security camera and saw a little fluffy white animal running into her yard, which she had never encountered before. After re-watching the record, she and her husband knew this hare had come from the woods behind their house and seemed in trouble, so they decided to help.

The couple was confused since they had never taken care of a rabbit. Atha lured the male bunny into her dog's crate. He wasn't scared of their presence and got into the crate after only ten minutes. Hence, Atha believed he was a domesticated pet losing his way back home.

The couple posted about the bunny on their Facebook and went around the neighborhood to ask if anybody had lost their pet rabbit, but it didn't work. While looking for his new owner, Atha kept him at home and named him Peter. Peter quickly got familiar with all the family members, including the daughter Cora.

A week later, a lady came and fostered Peter. The bunny had a new name Simon, a female friend, and two friendly cats in his new eternal home. Half a year passed in a blink of an eye, and now, Simon is a happy rabbit with grown-out, darker hair.
