Woman Builds Ladder Especially For Stray Cats So That They Can Come In When It's Cold Outside

Being a stray cat is surely hard. Especially when cold days come, besides facing a lack of basic needs to maintain life, such as food and water, these poor animals also need a warm and safe place to refuge during the winter.

You know, we are now living in a world filled with love and care, and I’m very happy to say that out there, lots of people are always ready to help homeless animals, and they just know so many different ways to do that. However, we are impressed by the way that a woman in Turkey helped these little wandering felines suffer the cold of winter.

Şebnem Ilhan, a caring dentist from Tekirdag, Turkey, has a deep love for cats, and she is always worried about the condition of stray cats around her neighborhood. And when the cold Turkish winter started to set in, Ilhan couldn't ignore the sight of several stray cats roaming outside her home.

This particular winter was exceptionally harsh, and she knew these poor felines had no shelter from the biting cold. So she decided she had to take action, and her solution surprised everyone—she constructed a cat ladder that led straight into her home.

Her motive was simple and heartwarming: "I made the ladder so the cats could come into my cozy house," Sebnem Ilhan explained to The Dodo, an animal channel.

However, she was a bit concerned about her neighbors' reactions to this new addition to her windows. To make it more appealing, she added some decorative flower pots. She thought, "I believed that if I put some flower pots there, it wouldn't bother anyone."

Luckily, her idea began to work quickly, and the response was overwhelmingly positive. The stray cats in the area eagerly took advantage of her generous offer, seeking refuge from the harsh winter by climbing the ladder into Ilhan's welcoming home.

As time passed, more and more people in the neighborhood noticed her compassionate act, and the reactions remained entirely positive. The community praised her initiative, but perhaps the biggest fans of her idea were the stray cats, who seemed to sense the warmth of Ilhan's kind heart.

Constructing a 'cat ladder' is not the only way Sebnem Ilhan extends her help to animals in need. She also dedicates her time to volunteering and caring for stray dogs and cats at a local rescue. "I wish no animal is hungry or thirsty, just happy," she expressed. "This world is not just for people." Ilhan's actions truly embody the spirit of compassion and empathy towards our furry friends.
