Her 20-year-old brother still lives there and sometimes thinks he can do whatever he wants just because he's an adult now. Their mom sets specific rules for him as long as he's at home: daily dishwasher duty, handling recycling, and having his girlfriend over only when mom or OP's stepfather is around.
One day, her brother had his girlfriend over, and OP went downstairs and told them her brother's girlfriend had to leave. After an argument, both left.
