Why Was Mando Kicked Out Of His Own Clan?

If you are a fan of The Mandalorian, you might be wondering why was Mando kicked out of his own clan. The hit Disney+ series features a bounty hunter named Din Djarin (aka Mando) and his adorable companion Grogu (aka Baby Yoda). The show has captivated fans with its action-packed adventures, stunning visuals, and intriguing characters.
However, not everything is smooth sailing for Mando and his allies. In fact, he has faced some serious consequences for his actions, including being kicked out of his own clan.

#1. The Mandalorian creed

Mando belongs to a group of warriors who follow the Mandalorian creed, a code of honor that dictates their way of life. One of the most important rules of the creed is that they never remove their helmets in front of anyone, except for their spouse or children. This rule is meant to protect their identity and culture from their enemies.

However, not all Mandalorians follow this rule. In season 2 episode 3, Mando meets Bo-Katan Kryze and her companions, who are also Mandalorians but do not wear their helmets all the time. They explain that they are part of a different faction that believes in restoring Mandalore as a free planet. They also reveal that Mando was raised by a group called the Children of the Watch, who are considered extremists by other Mandalorians.

#2. The helmet removals

Mando’s first helmet removal came in season 1 episode 8 when he was badly injured by Moff Gideon’s forces and needed medical attention from IG-11, a reprogrammed assassin droid. Mando reluctantly allowed IG-11 to remove his helmet and heal him with bacta spray. He justified this by saying that IG-11 was not alive and therefore did not count as breaking the rule.

Mando’s second helmet removal came in season 2 episode 7 when he and Bill Burr’s Migs Mayfeld infiltrated an Imperial facility to locate the whereabouts of Moff Gideon’s cruiser. In this episode, Mando had to scan his face at a terminal to access the data he needed. However, he could not do it with his helmet on because it would alert the security system. He decided to take off his helmet in front of Mayfeld and several stormtroopers to complete his mission.

#3. Why was Mando kicked out?

Mando’s third helmet removal came in season 2 finale when he finally faced Moff Gideon and rescued Grogu from his clutches. In this episode, Mando had an epic duel with Gideon using his beskar spear against Gideon’s darksaber. He managed to defeat Gideon and claim the darksaber as his own.

However, this created a problem for Bo-Katan Kryze who wanted to reclaim Mandalore using the darksaber as a symbol of leadership. According to tradition, the only way to wield the darksaber is by winning it in combat from its previous owner. Bo-Katan could not accept the darksaber from Mando without fighting him first.

To make matters worse, Mando removed his helmet again in front of Bo-Katan, Gideon, and several other characters to say goodbye to Grogu, who decided to go with Luke Skywalker for Jedi training. This act showed that Mando no longer cared about following the strict rules of his clan and was willing to break them for those he loved. As a result, Mando was kicked out of his clan by Bo-Katan, who saw him as a traitor and an obstacle to her plans. He also lost Grogu, his closest friend, and became an enemy of Moff Gideon, who vowed revenge. Mando was left alone, without a home or purpose.

#4. Conclusion

Why was Mando kicked out? The answer is simple: he chose love over duty. He sacrificed his identity, his culture, and his allegiance for Grogu, Mayfeld, and himself. He realized that there was more to life than following orders blindly. He became more human than ever before.

However, this choice came at a high cost. He lost everything he had worked hard for: his clan, his creed, and his companion. He also made powerful enemies who will stop at nothing to destroy him. He will have to face many challenges ahead as he tries to find a new path for himself. We hope you liked it.
