When This Employee Got Threatened By His Boss For Deciding To Quit His Job, His Soon-To-Be New Employer Stepped In To Protect Him

If the majority of people—or at least us, dear 99 percenters—have anything in common, it must be terrible bosses. We can hardly stand them when they are screaming, lazy, or unethical, which explains why this is the exact reason why roughly 50% of workers leave their jobs. But where would we be today if not for them, those soul-sucking, raise-refusing individuals we obey?
Consider this: they may not have our best interests in mind and may not even be familiar with our real names, yet they drive us mad so that we can go on. In his poem "Ode To The Bad Boss," Carpendiem Inc. founder Dave Carpenter writes: "I'd want to sincerely thank all of the bad employers I've worked for over the years. How could I have launched my own company without you?"
There's no question that this guy feels the same way. At the very least, deep inside. He revealed in his mind-boggling r/antiwork narrative that it was his boss' selfishness that finally convinced him that it was time to quit. After everything this employee accomplished for the business and all the money he contributed to its success, all he was given as a Christmas bonus was a shoddy $25 gift card. What's best? He needed to go 1.5 hours to the nearest theater to use it for. Thank you, Mr. Boss!
