The popular and critically acclaimed sitcom series is the show that brought Vergara’s reputation to another level. The Colombian actress portrays Gloria, Jay’s second wife, and a member of the problematic Pritchett family. Vergara is one of the show’s best stars, and the role further enhances her acting chops in comedy movies and series. When you think of Vergara, you just simply can’t not mention Gloria.

In this movie, Vergara plays Inez, the ex-chef Carl’s wealthy ex-wife, who’s very supportive of his ex-husband on his journey to discover Cuban cuisine, and also helps him to reconcile with his son Percy. The couple eventually rekindle their relationship and get married in the end. Chef is well-received by the audience and is rated highly by critics, and the actress’s performance plays a pivotal part in its success.

Often compared to the movies Sex and the City and Designing Woman, the one-season series revolves around four successful women who struggle to find their other ones because of their personalities. Vergara portrays Lola, one of the four women, who’s constantly chased after by men but is completely oblivious about it, and her comedic chops really shine throughout the show.

Vergara stars alongside her real-life husband Joe Manganiello in this drama about a former baseball player, Sonny, who has gone to prison for 17 years. Following his release, he tries to restart his career from scratch and revive his relationship with his ex-girlfriend Angela. The couple’s performance was rated highly by the audience and is one of the more serious roles that the actress portrays.

Vergara appears in another ABC sitcom, The Knight of Prosperity, playing the young waitress Esperanza, who joins a mischievous gang of misfits called Knights, who operate a heist to rob a celebrity. Inspired by Louann Brizendine’s book, the film follows the uptight neurologist Julia Brizendine in her endeavors to compare male and female brains by experimenting on several subjects. Vergara’s character, Lisa Hampton is one of these subjects, and she delivers a stellar performance as a frustrated wife who suffers an unhappy marriage.

In this title, Vergara portrays Terry “T.T.”, Madea’s new cellmate and a crazed serial killer who murdered 18 men. Her role in the movie wasn’t a significant one, but the Colombian star nails every scene she’s in, successfully portraying the mentally unstable personality and hilarious quips of the character.

Stars as a widow of a deceased drug lord, Vergara’s character is dragged across the country with a policewoman, who protects her from hired killers and dirty cops. While the movie isn’t particularly well-loved by the critics, the amazing chemistry between Vergara’s Daniella and Reese Witherspoon’s Rose Cooper is much appreciated by fans and is by far one of the film’s saving grace. 

Vergara plays Cici, an enthusiastic and attention-craving waitress who’s one of the playboy protagonist Tomas’s love interests. While the film received mostly unfavorable reviews, the actress’s performance was decent enough, and it didn’t affect much on her overall career.

In this movie, Vergara stars as Lydia Harter, the main villainess who wants to kill her husband to inherit his riches. To make her elaborate plan to fruition, Lydia hires the problematic trio Moe, Larry, and Curly to do the dirty work, which immediately backfires. The film wasn’t great, with Vergara’s role being the only saving grace thanks to her charismatic nature.
