Three Thorny Comic Series By The “EL” Duo That’ll Steal Your Heart
Single-panel and four-panel comics might be familiar to many webcomic fans and even non-fans. But have you ever glued your eyes to the series of panels that are displayed in the vertical strips? Do you think it can be as appealing as the usual ones? Today, we’d love to share with you some special facts about a “powerful” duo of comic artists, whose works will definitely catch you off guard!
Ehud Lavski and Yael Nathan are gifted cartoonists from the U.S.A. They have co-created artworks for five years and now amass a great number of global readers. Working as partners appears tough from the beginning, yet they have developed ways to build a mutual mindset for their creative process. If you wondered, their comics possess a horror vibe, though they are quite colorful. What makes them special mainly comes from the artists’ drawing styles, which will make you think of short animated films. Especially, their art is one incredible mixture of dreams and nightmares that everyone may feel related to.
Many of the duo’s comics have no dialogues or speech balloons yet are full of text boxes. Below are three of their best horror tales about a jazz singer, a mysterious tattoo artist, and an old man with a time machine. Be ready and feel free to invite your friends to explore the “EL” world for more spectacular artworks. Enjoy!

Ehud Lavski (male) and Yael Nathan (female) shared with their fans some of their co-creating facts. Their examples of artists are all distinguished. Ehud is inspired by Guillermo Del Toro, Neil Gaiman, and Junji Ito. Meanwhile, Yael looks up to Claire Hummel, Miki Montlló, and J.A.W. Cooper. Like many artists, writing down their new ideas is not different from a bunch of messes. Good notes are carefully chosen and transferred to a screenwriting program as scripts for the final drafts. Whoever is in charge of sketching will do his job on an iPad without making changes to the comics’ plots. Indeed, most of their work is done with digital support.
