Do we really live in a world full of lies? Purely material things like physics and chemistry are directly provable. They’re easy to sort out truth from lies. Anything else becomes much harder. When it comes to social, emotional, and moral things, they are almost impossible to prove lie from truth usually.
For example, you lent someone $500 but you didn’t keep any records. Later, when asked for the repayment, they claim they never borrowed money from you. How do you prove the truth? You cannot. It will remain a feeling of having lent him money. Only you and he can know the truth, but his word contradicts yours. So what’s the truth?
Without knowing someone’s intention and memory, we cannot be certain. That doesn’t mean that truth doesn’t exist, it just means that we cannot be certain about truth in these areas.
Yes, the world is full of lies. Most people are liars. Also, most people prefer to believe lies than truth. But I cannot prove that to you. It comes from my subjective life experience and the understanding I’ve built from my framework of the world.
