“The Terminator” Arnold Schwarzenegger Can Join The MCU, Under One Simple Condition

As the Marvel Cinematic Universe keeps on expanding, more and more famous action stars in Hollywood are lining up to join the franchise’s superhero and villain squad. We already have the Rambo star Sylvester Stallone joining the MCU as Stakar Ogord, a faction leader of the Ravagers in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 and 3, and now, a rumor reveals that “The Terminator” Arnold Schwarzenegger is also making his move to hop on the train in the near future.

Needless to say, the rumor got everyone on their feet. Arnold Schwarzenegger is one of the most iconic action stars in the industry, having established his name in the classic franchise “The Terminator”, so having him join the MCU would be a great feat that can boost the studio’s reputation even more. The actor himself is also quite fond of the idea and claimed that he would love to join the MCU one day, under one simple yet crucial requirement.

In a recent interview with Men’s Health to talk about his new comedy-drama series FUBAR, the actor was asked about the possibility of him taking part in an MCU title in the future before calling it a day, and he addressed the issue quite thoroughly. Schwarzenegger is not against the idea of joining the franchise, but he also revealed one simple condition that needs to be fulfilled first, which is summed up in just five words.

“If the role is right!” Said the ex-California governor.

It seems that Schwarzenegger is opened to the idea, and in fact, has taken it into consideration for quite a while. And if he’s going to land a role in Marvel, he’s going to ponder it carefully before accepting.

Besides his Terminator role, Arnold Schwarzenegger is no stranger to the superhero genre, having portrayed Mister Freeze in the movie Batman & Robin in 1997. The film was an absolute box office bomb, but it proves that the actor is more than capable of playing a villain from the comic. He also took part in the animated series Superhero Kindergarten, which was created by himself and the iconic Stan Lee, voicing the character Arnold Armstrong/Captain Fantastic.

#3. The rumor claims that Schwarzenegger will have a role in Armor Wars.

In 2022, there’s a rumor that Schwarzenegger was a candidate to play the villain Titanium Man in the upcoming Armor Wars movie, which also features the War Machine (Don Cheadle) as the main character. Apparently, this piece of news even caught Don Cheadle off guard. During his appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Cheadle expressed his confusion about the rumor, stating that he had never even heard about the Titanium Man character before. Of course, the actor also saw the funny side and even joked about it as well.

And while the rumor is unlikely to be true, the theory that Schwarzenegger will play Titanium Man actually makes sense. In the comics, the one who holds the title of Titanium Man is Boris Bullski, a buff Russian soldier who’s also one of Iron Man’s arch-nemesis, and also fights in a suit just like Stark. Schwarzenegger’s body figure and Austrian origin make him a great fit for the role, who can give Rhodey a good run for his money.

However, with the former governor’s busy schedule in the upcoming month, it’s safe to say he won’t join the MCU any time soon. Schwarzenegger is starring in the Netflix action series FUBAR, and the upcoming documentary Arnold is set to stream this June. In FUBAR, the actor plays an experienced CIA agent who is considering retirement, just to discover that he has a daughter. The series receives mixed reviews so far, scoring a 77% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.
