The trailer provides a glimpse into Midge's story as she finds herself being closer than ever to everything she has ever desired. The trailer, however, makes it clear that, while she is on the verge of achieving the success she craves, it is still out of reach, and there is a lot left to do. Or like what Midge says, "three steps forward, two steps back".
The Season 5 trailer picks up right where the Season 4 finale left off. It starts with Midge having a moment of realization while moving through New York. She knows that she is now ready to fully ascend to fame and success, thanks to a well-placed billboard for The Gordon Ford Show. However, when things look like it would only get better, Midge encounters all the problems that inevitably come with stardom. Well, she may get discouraged, but she would eventually stand up and move forward like the bright and strong Midge she has always been.
The trailer also shows Midge running into her Season 4 ex-lover. Her relationship with him ended when Midge discovered that she unintentionally became the "other woman" in his marriage.

The fifth and final season of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel will premiere on Friday, April 14, 2023, according to Prime Video. The final season will begin with a three-episode premiere, followed by six episodes that will air weekly after the premiere.

Near the end of the fourth season, we get to see Lenny Bruce advised Midge to take his place as Tony Bennett's opening act at the Copacabana. However, her worries about failing made her passing up Tony Bennett and many other good opportunities.
It takes a lot of determination and encouragement for her to stand up again. After seeing Lenny Bruce's impressive set at New York's Carnegie Hall, she seemed eager to return to her rightful place. She got rid of her disheartened heart and set The Gordon Ford Show as her next goal.
