Teen Girl Reunites With Her Long-Lost Childhood Cat While Volunteering At An Animal Shelter

Hannah Rountree, an Oregon girl, has a great interest in animals. She used to have a male milk-cow-look-like pet cat named Spunky, but in 2016, when she was 12, the kitty ran away while the family was away on vacation. Despite their attempt to look for him, Spunky's whereabouts remained unknown, which broke Hannah's heart.

Three years later, the teen girl still kept her love for pets and volunteered at the Saving Grace Pet Adoption Center in Roseburg, Oregon. Little did she know it was the way to find back her long-lost feline pal. Hannah spotted a furr-miliar face among kitties in the shelter's catio just two weeks before Christmas and recognized it after a short moment of astonishment.

Saving Grace's director Wendy Kang informed Spunky was brought into the shelter in early September of 2019 as a stray. The roaming kitty was renamed Bear and adopted out by another family, but returned soon after because the expected mouser couldn't mouse. The rodent-averse meower was given back just in time for Hannah's volunteering shift.

Thankfully, the teen girl could receive her furry buddy back, and this time, she would never let him go again. Even though he had had quite a journey to tell, Spunky perked up in the house more comfortably than ever.
