Stray Cat Gets Rescued And Is Now So Obsessed With His First Toy

“He caught my eye yesterday as I was driving past a huge pile of trash on the side of the road in a very bad part of town,” Haley, an experienced cat rescuer, wrote on the X platform, formerly known as Twitter. “He was weakly trying to eat garbage as cars rushed past him.”
Haley finally caught the adorable, scared boy after 24 hours of unsuccessful tries. Despite Shambles' extreme skinniness and apparent illness, Haley was determined to nurse him back to health.
The initial stages of Shambles' recovery were challenging. He was weak from malnutrition and his condition necessitated daily medication. But even so, Haley persisted in treating Shambles well and gradually gained his trust.
“What he doesn't get aggressive about though, oddly enough, is medicine time. He hates it but every time I start preparing his meds he just goes and cowers pathetically in this corner and doesn't fight me at all when I do it, just looks disappointed. Which is worse than biting me” shared Haley in a post.
Shambles initially avoided Haley and reacted negatively to her touch. But after a few days, he did something completely unexpected for her: He sat down on Haley's lap and curled up for a cuddle.
That was the moment when Shambles began to emerge from his shell.
