Sibling Builds Rescue Shelter And Rescues Over 300 Stray Cats

Remus Gall and his sister have been cat lovers since they were very little. Their bond with cats is so strong that, together, they built the largest cat shelter in Romania, where they can provide a loving home for stray cats.

The shelter was first created four years ago, and the sibling started to rescue abandoned cats from their city and neighboring villages. They also adopt dogs that are in poor condition.

They began this meaningful job with their own money, and it was pretty hard at that time as they could not provide full support for all the animals in the shelter. That was when they decided to start a non-profit organization. It worked and they could spend more money on helping poor pets.

The latest update was last month, and they have provided a home for more than 300 cats. However, they believe that their mission has always reached far beyond that. “Every day, we receive calls about abandoned and sick animals who need our help. This responsibility, while huge, is something we take to heart,” shared Remus Gall.

“So far, we’ve managed to save dozens of these feline lives, which is a noteworthy achievement considering many people aren’t aware that FIP is indeed a treatable disease.” Remus shared that since not many people knew that FIP could be cured, he and his sister wanted to spread this information far and wide.

There is assistance from people who accidentally learned about the shelter on the internet. However, they are not enough because basic necessities such as medicine and food are needed every day to take care of more than 300 animals.

“We’re doing our best, but we’re struggling. We’re always running out of dry cat and dog food. We couldn’t afford vaccines this year and still owe a lot to our vets”, shared Remus.
