Scarlett Johansson Reveals Few Rules On How To Date Her, Number 1: Don't Be Needy!

Scarlett Johansson, who plays the Black Widow, is open about her preferences in relationships and discusses her unspoken dating rules. The actress, who is most known for her fierce performances in Marvel blockbusters and action flicks like Ghost in the Shell, filled her early career with romantic comedies.
Jennifer Aniston, Bradley Cooper, Ben Affleck, Drew Barrymore, Jennifer Connelly, Kevin Connolly, and Ginnifer Goodwin were also featured in the 2009 film He's Just Not That Into You. Many rom-com movies were released in the early 2000s, and many of them not only made viewers fall in love and tear their hearts out but also gave them life lessons.

Scarlett Johansson discussed her dating philosophy in an interview with Julie Chen in reference to her well-known rom-com movie, He's Just Not That Into You. The actor revealed:
“If he really doesn’t call, I would say forget it. I think that the unwritten rule is that the guy should call the girl. It’s the unwritten rule. I don’t like neediness in any way. It’s nice to feel wanted, and it’s nice to be romanced and all of that, but I need to have my time to do things with my friends and my family, and so when somebody’s calling me too much, it gives me anxiety like, what’s wrong, what happened, who died?”
Johansson said that although being an actor affords her the opportunity to talk about her project, she still prefers to live a private life:
I’m an actor, and it’s fun to come and talk about the movies that we’re promoting, but when it comes down to it, there are so many things that we have, our personal things, our relationships or family, and I’ve pulled those very sacred. I’m not willing to sacrifice my privacy just for a juicy scoop.”

Johansson appears to be fairly rigid about her basic criteria of love and won't compromise them when it comes to dating. The Marvel star has been blissfully married to comedian Colin Jost since 2020 after divorcing actors Ryan Reynolds and Romain Dauriac and running their respective businesses. Before they became engaged in May 2019, she and her husband had been dating for two years. They had a tiny, private wedding the next year in the midst of the epidemic.
