Marvel fans on Twitter once again can get their hopes up, as according to the platform’s user CanWeGetToast, a scooper who has nearly 40k followers, Garfield could reprise the role in one of the most anticipated MCU movies in Phase 6, Avengers: Secret Wars.
The Twitter user also claims that there was a meeting between Marvel Studios’ head Kevin Feige and Garfield to discuss his possible role in Secret Wars prior to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strike. If this turns out to be true, the actor will return to the MCU alongside Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, who will make his MCU debut in the upcoming Deadpool 3.

Adapting a Marvel Comics’ event which leans heavily onto the Multiverse, Secret Wars is expected to feature a lot of superheroes and villains’ variants, and that’s where Garfield’s Spider-Man can come into play, and quite possibly, Tobey Maguire’s version of Peter as well.

Meanwhile, Garfield also gave a positive response about a potential The Amazing Spider-Man 3 movie, stating the character has “endless potential”, and that “the story never ends” in the extensive fanbook volume.

However, the star also said that it won’t happen any time soon, as he currently wanted to take a break from acting after his TV miniseries, Under the Banner of Heaven in 2022.
“I’m going to rest for a little bit. I need to recalibrate and reconsider what I want to do next and who I want to be and just be a bit of a person for a while. Because as you know, that is a washing machine, that awards season… I need to just be a bit ordinary for a while,” Garfield shared with Variety.
