Rescued Crow Follows Woman All The Way Just To Show Gratitude For Her

Crows are pretty smart, and they totally get it when someone's been nice to them. They've got this amazing memory, and if you're good to them, they won't forget your face. In the case of this woman, her kindness seems to have earned her a special place in the hearts of the crow she rescued. Along with his mate, the rescued crown follows her as if he is trying to send a unique and heartwarming message.

Wildlife rehabilitator Karenlynn Stracher never knows what animals may need her help, but she's always there for them. One day, when her fellow animal lover, John Debacker, rescued a crow from a nearby sewer and called her for assistance, Karenlynn immediately welcomed the bird into her care. Although the crow was uninjured, he was wet and needed a safe place to dry off. So, he spent about 12 hours under Karenlynn's care, receiving lots of food and a cozy place to rest.

However, what happened next was truly astonishing. When the sun rose the next day, Karenlynn was surprised to find that the crow had a visitor. The crow's mate was perched on top of the cage, keeping watch.

“I was shocked the next morning to find his mate sitting on top of the cage he was in,” Stracher shared.

But the surprises didn't end there. Days after Karenlynn released the crow back into the wild, she noticed an unexpected follower on her way to the gym. It was the grateful crow, and he had brought his friend along too. In fact, Karenlynn felt like she was being "stalked" by her new crow companions. “I am now literally being stalked by my crows,” Stracher wrote in a TikTok.

Although the crow had spent less than a day in Karenlynn's care, it was clear he felt a strong connection with her. And Karenlynn, who has worked with animals for a long time, was deeply moved by this unique experience.

She shared that she had seen animals form strong bonds with one another, but this was the first time an animal had shown such demonstrative gratitude towards her.

Stracher said. “I often get to see [the] family or friendship bonds that animals form with one another, but I’ve never had one show their gratitude to me in such a demonstrative way.”

Karenlynn couldn't help but be in awe of the crows' devotion, recognition, and appreciation for a simple act of kindness.

She hopes to raise awareness of the sophistication and intelligence of these frequently undervalued wild birds through her story and video. She believes that people should recognize them as intelligent and sentient creatures who are capable of intricate family relationships and deep emotions.
