‘Piglet-Looking' Puppy Completely Transforms After Getting The Best Chance At A New Life

No pet parents want their furbabies to end up being in the shelter. We all wish the best things to come to these little angels. Regardlessly, mishaps come, and pet owners can't continue to take care of their woofing and meowing fellows. It's heartbreaking to know that there are still many out there.

Henceforth, Chrissy Elder frequently visits her local shelter in Charlotte, North Carolina, to check whether any pet needs help. In July 2022, this mindful lady found a cute pit mix looking like a piglet with floppy ears at the shelter. His owner was in a medical condition and sent him there since she wasn't able to raise him anymore.

The shelter couldn't look after all the animals, so the poor pup was left in a kennel behind with his skin disease that worsened day by day. When Chrissy met him, she knew she had to save the dog. After receiving his new name Piggy, he was processed to the veterinary ER, where his painful skin condition was cured.

Then, Piggy went to a foster home of  Forgotten, Now Family Rescue and received medical baths three days a week with two rounds of antibiotics to treat a dermodex infection. After a month, his rehabilitation was amazing. Patches of fur grew back in his head, body, and limbs.

@chrissyelder090 I was there to meet another dog and they said there is a new medical that needs help if you want to look. They knew my answer is always yes. I saw him in that kennel and my heart dropped. No chance I was leaving him. They explained him and his mom were found stray but since he needs major medical we could leave to rush to e r. His temp was 104.9 he was oozing and cried out in pain when I touched him. He went straight to our e r team. I named him Piggy because those little ears looked like a baby piglet. His mom came out and she was in decent medical shape so they had to hold her for her stray hold at the shelter. I remember meeting her and she was watching us leave with piggy so I took him back down to her level and promised her he would get the best. We would save him. I then told her the minute they will let us get you we will be back. Piggy fought so hard to recover and from July 21st in his first pic til today his recovery has been amazing to see. We love you so much piggy. Rescuing you was my honor and this family loved you from day 1. You were forgotten and treated terribly but then found restoration and love here. Piggy was featured on the dodo last month and reached millions of people. He helped spread awareness for rescues and pitties like him who needed us. Then he found more from his featured story. I’m so excited to announce… piggy is adopted. His family is perfection. They love him so much and he is getting the life he always deserved. We will celebrate the win and now is the time to say to his mom you are next -your baby is getting everything he deserved from the beginning and he is safe forever. She is doing amazing and looking for her furever too. Stay tuned for her post tomorrow. Thank you for loving piggy with us and rallying to save his life. ?❤️#foster #rescue #adopt #pitties #pittiesoftiktok #newstart #fosteringsaveslives @The Dodo ♬ Get You The Moon - Kina
Moreover, Piggy had transformed from a sorrowful guy to a sweet, hopeful fellow. He ran and played all day and showed his unabashed love toward everyone. In September, a lady called and applied to adopt Piggy. So you know, he is now in a better place with his furever warm and fuzzy family.
