A year ago, a photo of a headless dog went viral on both Imgur and the subreddit r/confusing_perspective. The picture immediately sparked confusion and speculation among internet users. People were shocked and perplexed by the apparent lack of a head on the dog, wondering how it could survive without one.

However, the truth was quickly made clear, and it turned out to be the picture of a three-legged dog licking itself. The dog had just undergone surgery to amputate one of its front legs, and the stitches were still visible on his body. That was why the wrong illusion was created. In order to further clarify the situation, an internet user even created a helpful drawing to demonstrate to others how the dog would likely appear from a different angle.
