Shelter Staff Opens Mysterious Box And Is Surprised To Find 8 Fluffy Babies Inside

One morning, as Jaclyn Payne, the president of Lucky’s Cat House, was working in the shelter's adoption lobby, she noticed a car pull up outside the building, only to drive away moments later. Confused by this, Payne ventured outside and came across an abandoned cardboard box. She was deeply curious about the message that was scrawled on the lid.

“Found in ditch on side of road. Needs help! Thank you.”

With a sense of unease, Payne opened the box, revealing eight 5-week-old kittens gazing back at her. Immediately, her heart sank at the sight.

She was completely horrified by the Shameless act of someone abandoning a box of kittens in broad daylight.

After these little ones were released from the cardboard box, they started adapting to Lucky’s Cat House, their new home.

They seemed confused, not quite sure about their new surroundings, but also relieved to escape the small box. However, they were still scared in this unfamiliar place.

“They were confused because they were not sure what was happening, relieved because they were finally free, and scared because they were in a new and unfamiliar environment,” the representative said.

Unfortunately, the shelter was already operating at full capacity, and they needed assistance.

Later that day, Lucky’s Cat House took to Facebook, making an earnest plea to their followers, encouraging them to consider becoming pet foster parents.

Thanks to the far-reaching message, all the kittens eventually found secure and affectionate foster homes.

“Foster homes are important because they provide a safe and healthy environment for animals who need to heal, grow or get some extra TLC while they look for homes,” the representative said. “Fostering also frees up space at shelters and rescues so more animals can be helped. In short, fostering saves lives.”

Besides, when the time is right, these kittens will become available for adoption, ensuring they finally find the loving forever families they so rightly deserve.
