“My Home Was Falling Apart” Shakira Reveals Shocking News About Her Ex-Boyfriend Piqué’s Affair When Her Father Was In Critical Condition

Apparently, at the time of the cheating, Shakira’s father, William Mebarak Chadid, was fighting for his life in the ICU after a grave accident. According to the singer, her father, Mr. Chadid, was gravely injured in an accident during her eldest son, Milan, first communion, and was rushed to the hospital on May 28, 2022. The 91-year-old man was in critical condition, and was fighting for his life day by day in the ICU. Not long after, Shakira learned the hard truth about Gerard Piqué’s affair. As Chadid was still in grave condition, and her ex-boyfriend who she had spent nearly 14 years, left her for a younger woman, it was a devastating time in the artist’s life.
“Everything happened at once. My home was falling apart. I was finding out through the press that I had been betrayed while my dad was in the ICU.” Shakira bitterly shared with the press. “The man I have loved the most in my life, my father, was leaving me when I needed him the most.”

The singer also shared that at the time, she felt so desolated and even lost the will to live after all she has been through. She remains a close relationship with Chadid, and her father is also her best friend. After Shakira’s breakup, Chadid, while not at his best, still went to Barcelona to console his daughter as she was drowning in grief and sadness.
This is not the only time her father’s health is in poor condition. In just the span of six months, he has experienced COVID, two accidents, one pneumonia, and five different surgeries, at 91 years of age, no less. The La La La performer also revealed that at his age, her dad’s recovery had been “hard and slow”, and may not come back at his 100% anymore.

“My dad is the biggest example of resilience, and my mother has been by his side day and night. They have both been a reflection of that dream that didn’t come true for me. But I hope they are role models for my kids of love, of patience in relationships, of absolute devotion and zest for life.” The 46-year-old celebrity added.
This piece of news by Shakira gets the internet enraged over Piqué, who just announced his retirement from professional soccer half a year ago. “Cheating is bad enough, but this is a new low for him.” A Twitter user professed. Apparently, the Davis Cup shareholder hasn’t said anything about his ex’s new statement.

Despite the 10-year age gap, the two’s romance soon blossomed, and they made their first public appearance as a couple in 2011. During their 13 years of relationship, the two also had their own fair share of arguments, one of which led to a potential breakup in 2017, but they quickly reconciled afterward. However, their love started going sour at the start of 2022 the two announced their separation on June 4, which the singer later described as “the darkest hours of her life”. Since then, Shakira has been constantly dissing his younger ex in her songs, while Piqué mostly remains silent.
After their separation, the two children came to live with their mother in the States, and Piqué can visit them anytime for 10 days each month.

Piqué revealed his new girlfriend’s identity afterward, who’s the 23-year-old Clara Chia Marti, while also claiming that he was happy with the current relationship and didn’t care about the public’s eyes. The new girl, Marti, also called Shakira unpleasant words such as “witch” or “old hag” with her friends, and is convinced that she wasn’t having an affair with Piqué at the time, stating he and Shakira weren’t “physically connected” in their last stage of romance.
