Latest Deadpool 3’s Behind The Scene Footage Reveals Ryan Reynolds And The Anti-Hero’s New MCU Outfit
Best known for his super regeneration ability and his snarky quips in battle, Deadpool is one of Marvel’s most anticipated anti-heroes and mutants in the comic and is well-loved by hardcore fans. After making his big screen debut in X-Men: Origins, the Merc with a Mouth finally got his own solo franchise in the X-Men universe in 2016, with the equally hilarious and charming Ryan Reynolds reprising the role. The first two Movies, were huge box office hits, and fans are looking forward to the threequel in May 2024, especially now that Deadpool, Wolverine, and the other mutants are now part of the vast MCU.
Deadpool 3, the first X-Men movie in the MCU, is still currently in production, but the signs are looking positive for the much anticipated third part. Quite recently, a leak of footage from the scene has shown us Ryan Reynolds himself in action, donning his new MCU suit. Let’s take a look at what Ryan and Marvel have in store for us right away.
#1. Deadpool’s latest MCU suit is revealed, and it is as red as ever.
The snaps, shared by The Mirror via DiscussingFilm’s Twitter account, allow us to have a look at the 1976-born star with his latest costume. Reynolds is looking as charismatic as always, donning the iconic suit. In the pictures, we can see that the actor doesn’t wear his usual scarred makeup, since Deadpool’s face was deformed due to the extreme stress and the cancer tumor destroying his cells.
The new suit, while having some new minor tweaks here and there, doesn’t look much different from the first two movies, with the same old dark red-black color scheme. The most notable change is that the little Deadpool logo on his belt has gotten a cute redesign, which now features his iconic squint eyes. A small but nice addition, along with a new black collar around the neck. But overall, the suit doesn’t change much from the previous versions.
#2. Why Marvel doesn’t give Deadpool’s suit a complete overhaul?
Loyal Marvel fans would know that the studio has a tendency to make changes to the heroes’ costumes in every movie they’re in, or sometimes even generously gives them a brand-new ones. Apart from the cream of the crop like Iron Man or Captain America who constantly change their suit each title, even Hawkeye has a complete suit overhaul in his series. However, the same cannot be said about Deadpool, as the redesign for this character in the next movie is minimal at best.
There are some plausible reasons for this matter. Firstly, Deadpool doesn’t have a very diverse wardrobe in the comics to begin with. And secondly, the dark red in his suit is for the sole purpose of camouflaging all the blood and gore splattered on the anti-hero’s body, since his battles are, more often than not, extremely brutal. Therefore, it’s quite understandable why Marvel decides to reverse the trend in this case. Can’t fix what’s not broken, I guess.
However, knowing the studio, they might as well try to give the Merc with a Mouth a new suit variation during the movie, but don’t expect it to stray too far from the original color scheme.
#3. What we know so far about Deadpool 3.
The threequel of the anti-hero trilogy is projected to hit theaters on May 3, 2024, however, no further information about the film’s plot is revealed. However, both X-Men and MCU fans can rejoice, as the iconic Hugh Jackman will make a grand return in the movie for the first time since Logan in 2016, along with other fan-favorite characters such as Colossus, Dopinder, Vanessa, and many more. The Crown's star Emma Corrin is cast as the main villain of the third movie, however the identity of the bad guy is not officially revealed yet.
Deadpool 3 is also the first R-rated MCU movie ever, and the audience is looking forward to how Marvel will handle the movie. The studio is known for its generally family-friendly entries, however some recent titles such as Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness, or the latest TV series Secret Invasion have had their fair share of gory content, so we can expect the third movie about Deadpool to follow the first two's pattern.
