Jackie Chan Confirmed New Details On Rush Hour 4's Development
The development of Rush Hour 4 has been confirmed by Jackie Chan. The writing, he said, "just isn't right at the moment." On Thursday, he made this disclosure while making an appearance at the Red Sea International Film Festival (December 8th)
"We’re talking about part four right now! But the script isn’t right."
Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker appeared in the first Rush Hour movie, which debuted in 1998. They portrayed two disparate police colleagues who work together to free the kidnapped daughter of a Chinese diplomat. Rush Hour 2 and Rush Hour 3, which were released in 2001 and 2007, respectively, were born from the popularity of the action-comedy.
This fourth film has really been in the works for a while. Chan originally discussed it in 2017 and said at the time that they had settled on a script. The next year, Chris Tucker reiterated his decision to appear in the film. What Tucker had to say about the fourth film and his part in it is as follows:
"It’s happening. This is gonna be the rush of all rushes. Jackie is ready and we want to do this so that people don’t ever forget it."
There haven't been any new developments on the sequel since it was rumored to start filming in 2018 (which, obviously, never occurred).
The great boxer Mike Tyson will make an appearance in the sequel, Jackie Chan previously stated in an interview. Chan also stated that he was meeting with the film's director to discuss the upcoming installment, but he would not identify the filmmaker.
Since Bret Ratner, the film's former director, won't be taking the helm again, it will be intriguing to see who will take the reins on this project. This is in response to Ratner being accused of sexual harassment in 2017 by Hollywood actresses Natasha Henstridge, Olivia Munn, and four other women. Ratner has vehemently disputed all of the charges, but since they became known, he hasn't worked in the Entertainment industry.
