Injured Dog Finds Refuge Under Car Until a Samaritan Spots Him and Provides a Forever Home

Life on the streets is undoubtedly challenging, not only for humans but also for our four-legged friends. For Niq, a homeless dog, the struggle for survival was all too real. With no steady source of food, water, or a safe place to rest, every day was a battle. One fateful day, Niq encountered a menacing pack of animals, forcing him to seek refuge under a nearby car. His life hung in the balance until the kindness of strangers intervened, changing the course of his destiny.

After seeing the incident, neighbors immediately called Logan's Legacy Dog Rescue for assistance. The founder of Logan's Legacy, Suzette Hall, made her way as quickly as she could to the Southern California neighborhood. Sadly, at that time, the puppy was in very bad condition.

“He had a pretty bad wound,” Hall told The Dodo, an animal channel. “He had to have emergency surgery.”

Niq was immediately given compassionate medical care at Camino Pet Hospital after being brought there by Hall. Following an urgent procedure, the team successfully closed the pup's wound. However, something was not quite right when Niq recovered from the procedure. “After he got out of surgery, he started acting super sick,” Hall said. “Then he tested positive for parvo.”

In addition to dealing with healing from a traumatic wound, Niq was suddenly forced to battle a highly contagious virus. Although the road to recovery was difficult, Niq resisted giving up without a fight. Fortunately, he had a group of friends who were willing to assist him in getting better.

An especially close relationship formed between Niq and one friend, a veterinary technician. The vet tech would not leave her shift without visiting her new best friend before going home.

“She would go and sit with him every day after work,” Hall said. “She fell in love with him.”

The vet tech had a proposal for Hall after a few regular visits. To help Niq recover in a more cozy setting, she offered to take him home with her for a weekend. When Hall received an unexpected message the following Monday, she nodded and was gleefully surprised.

“She’d offered to take him home for the weekend, but she couldn’t bring him back,” Hall said. “She said, ‘I have to have him. Can I please adopt him?’”

Niq quickly became a member of the vet tech's family. And Niq is doing well in his new house right now. Niq is currently leading the happiest, best life he has ever known after fully overcoming his illness and injuries.

For Hall, there’s no sweeter outcome for a rescue dog than what Niq received. “He’s so happy, and he’s so loved,” Hall said. “He now has the perfect forever home.” Please like and share the story with your family and friends.
