Petra stumbled upon Destino during a mountain hike. What she found was truly alarming—a dog chained to a stone hut dangerously close to the mountain's edge. His precarious position meant that one wrong move could lead to a disastrous fall.

Destino was not only dangerously skinny but also bore painful wounds. His ears were bloodied, with visible insect bites that had taken a severe toll. The extent of his injuries was deeply troubling, possibly even approaching necrosis.

Observing the meager food bowl placed near the suffering dog, devoid of water, Petra suspected Destino was being kept alive with the bare minimum. Determined to save him, she approached Destino's owner with a heartfelt plea to adopt him, as she had grown deeply fond of the dog. Initially met with a firm "no," Petra's tears eventually moved the owner's heart, and he relented, granting her permission to take Destino.

Despite the trauma and mistreatment he had endured, Destino's loving nature shone through. Each morning, he would greet Petra with an enthusiastic wag of his tail. As he gradually healed, his true personality emerged—a calm and affectionate dog, wonderful with people. "He's genuinely happy now," Petra affirms.

What Destino needs most now is a loving family that will provide him with the care and security he deserves. Petra has shared his story on her TikTok channel, with the hope of finding either a foster home in Europe or a forever home where Destino can finally live the life he has always yearned for after enduring so much hardship.
