Netflix is set to drop Gyeongseong Creature in two parts, building anticipation on a global scale. The first part is scheduled for release on December 22, 2023, with the second part following on January 5, 2024. The strategic release promises to keep viewers on the edge of their seats, with a seamless transition between the two segments.
The series' official plot synopsis reads:
"In Spring 1945 in Gyeongseong, during Japanese rule over Korea, two young adults confront a strange creature born of greed, and battle against it for survival."
Set against the backdrop of 1945 Seoul during Japan's colonial rule, Gyeongseong Creature unveils a world where human greed manifests into monstrous beings. The narrative follows two protagonists, Jang Tae-sang (played by Park Seo-joon) and Yoon Chae-ok (portrayed by Han So-hee), as they confront these mythical creatures born from the darkest aspects of human desire.
Tae-sang, the affluent and astute owner of the Golden Treasure Pawnshop, finds his life intertwined with Chae-ok's, a skilled todugun (bounty hunter). Together, they navigate a world fraught with peril, prompting Tae-sang to reassess his priorities and values.

The Cast Of 'Gyeongseong Creature'

Gyeongseong Creature season 1 boasts an ensemble cast of Korean drama luminaries. Park Seo-joon and Han So-hee lead the charge as the dynamic duo faces the monstrous threat.
Claudia Kim, known for her role in Avengers: Age Of Ultron, joins as Maeda, the wife of a powerful official. Wi Ha-joon, famed for Squid Game and Little Women, takes on the role of Gwon Jun-taek, Tae-sang's adventurous best friend.
Seasoned actors Kim Hae-sook and Jo Han-chul add depth to the cast, portraying characters Nawol-daek and Yoon Joong-won, respectively.
In a recent development, Bae Hyun Sung has been announced to join the cast of Season 2 of "Gyeongseong Creature." Confirming the news, Bae Hyun Sung's agency, Awesome ENT, expressed their confirmation while maintaining confidentiality about the specific role and additional details. “It is true that he will appear in Season 2 of ‘Gyeongseong Creature.’ We ask for your understanding as we cannot further disclose his role and any additional details about his appearance,” said Awesome ENT in their statement.
