Guy Refuses To Believe A Black Man Is A Shopper Instead Of An Employee Because Of His Skin Color
Despite significant progress in raising awareness through campaigns worldwide, racism continues to persist in our supposedly modern world. Racism remains prevalent, with many individuals exploiting others based on their skin color.
In a recent incident shared by Reddit user u/Insipid_Pursuit, a white-skinned woman was shopping for lawn products with her dark-skinned fiance at a store. While her fiance was browsing houseplants, an elderly man approached him, seeking assistance. Despite both the fiance and the OP clarifying that they didn't work at the store, the man stubbornly refused to believe them. He failed to acknowledge their relationship and assumed that the OP's fiance was a store employee solely based on his black skin. In response, OP confronted the man, accusing him of racism for making such assumptions. Left embarrassed and speechless, the man stood there as OP and her fiancé walked out of the store. OP started with a question. She really wanted to know if anyone or if it was just her thinking that was because of racism.
OP and her fiance were looking for lawn care products at a shop.
While SO picked up some seeds, OP inspected some houseplants and took the cart with her.
And then she heard her SO and another guy getting loud.
The guy was mad because SO refused to help him even though SO made it clear that he didn't work at that shop. The guy didn't believe that SO was just a shopper for some reason.
The man even believed that if he were a woman, he would get the assistance he required.
OP finally interrupted them to confirm that SO wasn't an employee.
The guy ridiculously demanded to see the manager.
OP asked a question that perhaps everyone also wanted to ask. Apparently, it was the only way to stop that guy from making weird claims.
And it worked. The guy wasn't expected to be asked that question for sure.
It successfully proved that the guy was nothing but a racist. OP then showed her engagement ring to let him know they really were related, kissed SO, and left.
