Hope's story began when employees at New House Wildlife Sanctuary saved her and brought her to the shelter.

Shy and timid at first, the little fox rescued at the House Wildlife Sanctuary has captured the hearts of her caretakers. However, she faced additional problems because she developed canine vestibular disease, which made it challenging for her to balance.

Nonetheless, Hope demonstrated incredible resilience and began the road to recovery, despite still feeling deep loneliness within her soul. “She is recovering from mange and canine vestibular disease. She came close to dying when she arrived but is very strong now. She has been alone for the entirety of her stay here, and we feel terrible about it,“ shared Newhouse Wildlife Rescue on a Facebook post.

At the same time, three fox pups were taken in by the sanctuary.

They were all survivors of different rescue missions after tragically losing their mothers. The young foxes were without the guidance they required to endure in the wild and become accustomed to human interactions because their mother had left.

At that point, fate stepped in. The puppies required a mother, and Hope has been lonely. Their meeting appeared to have been predetermined by the stars.

The task of integrating them all, however, is much more challenging.

The sanctuary staff actually made a big decision when they decided to let Hope meet the three fox pups.

Staff members were at first concerned that Hope might act aggressively toward the young puppies. What happened next, on the other hand, surprised everyone and filled their hearts with joy.

Hope, much to the surprise of the staff, expressed a strong desire to reach the three fox pups.

She began digging under the enclosure, eager to make contact with her newfound companions. To everyone's delight, the fox pups returned the same enthusiasm, digging their way toward Hope.

This touching display of mutual longing and curiosity convinced the shelter that it was time to reunite this remarkable family. They realized that this union was a perfect match, as Hope’s loneliness found solace in the company of the playful pups, who, at this crucial stage of their lives, needed a mother more than ever.

The shelter staff could not help but assume that Hope had previously been a mother after observing her interactions with the fox pups.

Incredible changes occurred as the puppies began to hide behind Hope, fearing the staff but feeling safe and secure in the presence of their mother.

The shelter realized their goal had been reached. Hope was totally able to teach the pups priceless life lessons. The shelter hopes that one day the mama fox and her puppies will be released into the wild as a family, giving them all a second chance at life.
