Everyday Life Is Full Of Funny Contradictions, Depicted In 20 "Yes, But" Comics
If asked why you love reading comics so much, what will you say? For me, comics not only entertain me but also help me broaden my mindset about the world such as the comic I will share with you today - the "Yes, But" comic series.
Only with two panels and two words Yes - But, the webcomic created by Anton Gudim excellently shows contradictions in everyday life and perfectly captures how two-faced our society can be. As the Moscow-based artist said, the idea of creating "Yes, But" comics came to him in 2016, and this comic strip really made a name for himself in the comic industry. “I am not doing anything on purpose. I am not out for a ‘safari’ with a camera on people to see them in their habitat. I just live my life, and my life is both everyday affairs and social networks,” the author shares in an interview. “As soon as I started the ‘YES, BUT’ project, I began to notice examples of this format literally everywhere. So I just live and take notes.”
Among the thousands of comics on social media, Anton's illustrations are actually distinguished and have conquered nearly one million readers across the globe. "Yes, But" comics will allow you to see everything around you from different perspectives, ranging from mental health and self-discovery to human connections, and you'll probably find yourself in them. Even though the webcomic depicts a lot of truth and thought-provoking issues, it still contains a little bit of fun that makes people laugh.
