Both Abandoned Together, The Connection Between Dachshund And Paralyzed Cat Is Unbreakable
It all started when a Dachshund named Idgie and a special kitten named Ruth were discovered abandoned together, snuggled together at the base of a driveway. Knowing about the situation, the rescue team at Seminole County Animal Services quickly came to the rescue.
Later, these two buddies got their names from "Fried Green Tomatoes," a famous movie that is all about strong bonds. IdIdggie is the name of the energetic 2-year-old Dachshund who immediately turned into a fierce protector when animal control officers approached. And Ruth, who was just 7 months old, had some leg issues, so she then had to do a bit of a crawl to get around.
What's even luckier is that their friendship won’t end at the shelter. Realizing that they would need a special home together, Seminole Services contacted Jacqueline Borum, who runs the Project Paws pet charity. Borum has always been known for her work with Project Paws, and this time was not an exception. She happily decided to open her home and heart to Idgie and Ruth.
Borum also owns the Hollywood Houndz Boutique & Spa, which turned into the perfect place for Idgie and Ruth to relax and unwind. They often hang out in a cozy pen by the front window, where they cuddle and play together.
The entire staff loves them, and they've become the stars of the show for all the customers who visit. Jacqueline couldn't help but gush about their extraordinary friendship, saying, "We've seen dog and cat friendships before, but never quite like this."
So, here's the happy ending: Idgie and Ruth are still the best of buddies, and Ruth even got herself a kitty wheelchair to help her get around. Jacqueline summed up their friendship beautifully, saying, "They really are the best of friends!"
