On December 4, the "Bongos" rapper shared cryptic messages on her Instagram Stories, “You know when you just outgrow relationships,”suggesting that sometimes people just grow apart in relationships. She continued, “I’m tired of protecting people’s feelings…. I GOTTA PUT MYSELF FIRST.”
Cardi B and the former Migos band member had unfollowed each other on social media and that left fans wondering what happened. Adding fuel to the speculation, Offset took to his Instagram Story amidst the unfollowing frenzy. The "Stir Fry" rapper posted a Scarface clip featuring Al Pacino yelling, “Hey, f--- you, man! Who put this thing together? Me! Who do I trust? Me!”

Have Cardi B and Offset spoken out about the breakup?
Until now, representatives of the couples have not said anything. However, on Instagram Live, Cardi confessed, “I’ve been single for a minute now.” She added, “But I have been afraid… Not afraid, I just don’t know how to tell the world. But I feel like today has been, like, a sign.”
Expressing a desire for a clean slate in the upcoming year, Cardi revealed she's ready for a “fresh” and “open” start. With a sense of anticipation, she shared, “I'm curious for a new life, for a new beginning. And yeah… I'm excited.”

The rapper had subtly hinted at the breakup to her followers by unfollowing Offset and sharing enigmatic messages on her story. “I don't know if you guys have been getting clues from me, from my Lives, or from my Stories, when I put some certain music, or find my unfollowings,” the rapper said.

The rappers went through a couple of splits during their time together. The first time they made their breakup public was on December 5, 2018, when Cardi took to Instagram to announce that she and Offset were parting ways. She shared, “We got a lot of love for each other, but things just haven't been working out between us for a long time.”
She continued, “It's nobody fault I guess we just grew out of love, but we are not together anymore. It might take time to get a divorce and I'm going to always have a lot of love for him because he is my daughter's father.”

They welcomed daughter Kulture in July, 2018. They reconciled in January 2019, only to hit another rough patch in September 2020. This time, the “Bodak Yellow” rapper filed for divorce in an Atlanta courthouse, reportedly due to Offset's alleged infidelity.
