Blue Beetle Receives Early Positive Reactions, Is Promised To Sweep The Floor At The Box Office

One of the latest entries in the whole DC Extended Universe, Blue Beetle, is just days away from making its box office debut worldwide. This is the first time the DC hero appears on the big screen, even though Blue Beetle is one of the oldest superheroes in the comics.

However, with the two latest DCEU titles Shazam! Fury of the Gods and The Flash bombed at theaters, not many expect Blue Beetle to do any better, though the first two trailers have shown some promising signs.

While the expectation is low, the early screening of the upcoming movie has received an overall positive reaction from the audience, with many praising the film being a fun, light-hearted experience for you to watch with your family on Twitter and some other platforms. Let’s skim through the earliest review of Blue Beetle in this article, and see if the first-ever DCU hero can impress the international audience this August.

As we can see, the overall reactions to the early screening of Blue Beetle were great, with many praising the movie’s excellent special effects, and action sequences, along with its hilarious comedy gigs and family-centric nature.

The actors’ performances are highly appreciated as well, with Xolo Maridueña putting on a stellar display as Jaime Reyes. George Lopez, who plays Jaime’s uncle Rudy and Bruna Marquezine’s performances also impressed the Hollywood insiders.

The Latino representation is also another aspect that stands out in the movie. With the story heavily involving Jaime and his family, the movie seems to have done a good job to portray its first-ever Latino superhero in the DC Universe.

Asides from the humor, the movie also balances things out with a variety of emotional and heartfelt sequences, with some wholesome interactions between Jaime and his family.

The early positive reactions from critics further prove the promising signs in the Blue Beetle’s first two trailers turn out to be true, and are expected to encourage the audience to go to the theaters. The upcoming DC movie is now tracking for a $30 million debut, which is way more promising than its initial box office projection.

Due to the box office bombs in Shazam! Fury of the Gods and The Flash earlier this year, the projections for Blue Beetle weren’t high to begin with, and the current WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes didn’t help at all with the movie’s marketing campaign. Therefore, multiple Hollywood Latino groups have teamed up to boost the film’s promotion during the strikes.
