In the music video, the talented singer can be seen in a vintage yellow ensemble as she looks through Barbie-sized clothing that happens to be some of the most iconic outfits in her career.
The introspective ballad and video depict Eilish's previous images. “They’re not me but they will always be me,” she stated in a behind-the-scene take. “Thinking about your life, and the present and the future and the past, is a scary gut-wrenching thing to do.”

"What Was I Made For" is the song from the "Barbie" soundtrack that has received the most streams since the film's premiere last month, according to data from Music Industry How To. On Spotify, the Eilish hit has received 30.9 million streams.

The song was co-written and produced by Eilish's brother Finneas, who also contributes to almost all of her musical works. However, this time it also features production from industry powerhouses Mark Ronson and Andrew Watt.
For the contributions to Amy Winehouse's "Rehab" and his own "Uptown Funk" featuring Bruno Mars, Ronson has previously won two Grammys for Record of the Year. In the meantime, Watt was nominated for Record of the Year for collaborating on Justin Bieber's hit song "Peaches."
