Babysitter Gets Fired After Sneaking Dog Into Her Client's’ Home Without Asking Their Permission

For pet lovers, their furry babies are the most adorable and innocuous creatures. That's why we often hear claims such as "they are friendly and harmless" from dog parents. The problem is that not everyone wants to interact with canines, and some are even allergic to them. Thus, it would be extremely rude to bring a dog into another's house without their permission, like the babysitter in the story below.

The Reddit account u/Frosty-Barracuda-55 took his situation to the popular subreddit r/AmItheAsshole to ask if he was unreasonable when firing a babysitter. He and his wife decided to hire a 20-year-old girl to take care of their 6-month-old baby while they were out for a date night. They'd hired the babysitter several times before, so they believed everything would be fine. Their house had two cameras in their son's room and his play area in the living room, and the babysitter was totally aware of that.

Whereas the couple was out enjoying their night, they got a notification from the camera that there was motion in the play area. Both of them were startled when they saw a strange dog next to their son on the screen. They rushed to their home in no time after failing to call the babysitter.

The girl was surprised to see the couple. It turned out that she had brought her golden retriever along today and let it into the house. Though she explained that her pet wasn't dangerous, the poster had a go at her since he didn't want his son to be exposed to dogs.

The babysitter never asked the Redditor or his wife to let the dog in. The poster forced her to leave with her dog and only paid half her rate as she only worked half the time. On the other hand, the babysitter thought she wasn't in the wrong and demanded the total amount.

In response to the post, netizens rallied behind the Redditor. Many believed the babysitter intentionally sneaked the dog into the house as she knew she wouldn't get permission if she asked for it.

Online people agreed that let alone the potential dangers of the canine, it was unacceptable to bring pets into another' house without permission. If the people living in the house were allergic to dogs, the consequences would be grave. Even dog lovers said they couldn't stay calm if this happened to them.
