It can be said that no one could love or be prouder of their children than their parents. And this holds true for any parent, including animal parents, anywhere in the world. The gorilla mother in the video below is a good illustration of how ecstatic she can be about her tiny child. On a beautiful day at the Calgary Zoo, visitors had the opportunity to witness an incredible moment when the mother gorilla was so happy to lift her adorable newborn into the air and introduce her to others.

A female gorilla was seen introducing her new baby to visitors at the Calgary Zoo in a heartwarming moment.

In footage shared online by ViralHog, shows the mom grabbing her baby's arms and lifting it in the air before cradling it and kissing the new gorilla's forehead, melting the hearts of visitors who witnessed the moment.

'Oh, my goodness!' One person can be heard saying this in the video. 'Did she just give it a kiss?' Another woman then tells the gorillas: 'Thank you for showing us!'

It was a true Simba moment.

The guests were truly surprised and mesmerized by the love and adoration the mama gorilla has for her beautiful baby. And internet users also get overwhelmed by this fascinating scene. The Instagram video racked up more than 16,000 likes and 233 comments right after it was posted for a few days.

However, the video brought up a controversial issue, it’s whether or not animals should be put in captivity.

While the crowd was enthralled and also moved by the notion that these animals are kept in zoos, some users stated that animals should be left in the wild. However, animals, especially endangered species, would be harmed by poachers if they were left to roam in the wild. Zoos have breeding programs and are committed to research and conservation to prevent species extinction.

Sometimes, animals are better off being protected in exchange for their freedom, so they can survive.
