Debra Weissman is a reserved woman and rarely makes public appearances alongside her husband. She has achieved notable academic success and currently serves as a lecturer at the UNC School of Law. Her expertise spans nearly 20 areas, with a particular focus on social laws and civil rights.

Also according to UNC School of Law, Debra holds a distinction as a Phi Beta Kappa graduate from Syracuse University and graduated cum laude from Syracuse University Law School.
