After making his MCU debut in Captain America: Civil War (2016), T’Challa/Black Panther has been a prominent member of the Avengers, and even has two standalone Movies to boot. After Chadwick Boseman’s tragic passing in 2020, the Black Panther mantle was passed to T’Challa’s sister, Shuri (Letitia Wright), as she becomes the protagonist in the 2021 sequel, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever

For now, there is little information about a potential threequel movie, but Marvel fans can rejoice as the studio recently announced a brand-new Black Panther TV series is hitting Disney+ in 2024. What is the series’ release date, and what will it be about? Let’s find out in this article.

In a recent What If…? Season 2 event, Marvel Studios had us on our feet as they announced a Disney+ Black Panther TV series in 2024. The series is titled Eyes of Wakanda, and it’s going to be an animated series just like the What If…? franchise.

The following logline regarding the series was also released:

“Throughout Wakandan history, brave warriors have been tasked to travel the world retrieving dangerous vibranium artifacts. This is their story.”

So far, the official release date for the Black Panther TV series is not yet announced by Marvel. We only know that it will be released somewhere in 2024, alongside other MCU projects such as Echo (January 10), Agatha: Darkhold Diaries (Fall 2024), and Marvel Zombies.

The studio also reveals very little information about the series, except for the fact that it will be released on Disney+ like most other MCU titles. No trailer or artwork of the series was provided, either.

#3. What Is The Story Of Black Panther: Eyes Of Wakanda?

As mentioned above, Marvel Studios hasn’t revealed anything yet about Eyes of Wakanda, including its story. However, judging from the logline above, we can guess a thing or two. Firstly, as the logline mentions “warriors”, there’s a possibility that Eyes of Wakanda will feature multiple protagonists, with separate stories for each episode.

Secondly, Letitia Wright’s Shuri may not be the protagonist of this series. If Eyes of Wakanda features multiple protagonists, other characters such as Okoye, Nakia, or even Queen Ramonda will have a more prominent role. Besides, the logline also mentions “throughout Wakandan history”, which may mean former Black Panthers in the past, such as T’Chaka, may have a role in the upcoming animated series.

#4. Eyes of Wakanda’s Cast: Everything We Know

For now, it’s still unsure if characters such as Letitia Wright, Lupita Nyong’o, or Danai Gurira will return as Shuri and the Dora Milaje in the animated series or not, but this scenario is possible. In the What If…? franchise, multiple MCU actors such as Chris Hemsworth, Hailey Atwell, and Benedict Cumberbatch all reprise their roles as their animated counterparts, so the same could happen in Black Panther: Eyes of Wakanda.

Do you think Letitia Wright and other Black Panther actors will reprise their roles in Eyes of Wakanda? What are your expectations for the animated series? Let us know in the comments below.
