The details of daily life, relationships, and emotions are often the subjects of our animal comics. We believe that it would be amusing to place those things in the mouths of fish known to be cold-blooded killers. Sharks also aren’t eligible for royalties. The more we learn about sharks, the more bizarre and alluring we find them to be. A webcomic called ‘Captain Scratchy’ by Chuck Ingwersen combines shark facts with sharp humor. If you haven’t discovered his art, now is the time!
Before becoming a cartoonist, Chuck Ingwersen was a newspaper journalist who had always dreamed of doing art. He is now a Chicago-based freelance cartoonist who specializes in funny greeting cards. His initial website, “Words and Toons,” included his cartoons and humorous essays. Later, he developed the web-comic “Captain Scratchy” about animals in absurd scenarios, such as a cat attending a job interview and sharks looking for food. Although the majority of his cartoons focus on the animal realm, any of you can find some absurd human characters in his work. He was greatly influenced by “The Far Side,” so his cartoons range from upbeat to quite bleak.
Since Chuck doesn’t frequently produce lengthy comics, the majority of his work is between three and four hours long. He typically works at a controlled pace, trying to finish at least one finished cartoon or comic every day. He said that one of his all-time favorite movies, Jaws, served as the inspiration for his fervent love of sharks. His shark comics have received excellent feedback, and in recent days, he has been working more on them. He also enjoys working on the comic’s layout and perfecting the facial expressions. For a large greeting card publisher, he has been focusing a lot on amusing greeting cards.
Are you feeling down and in need of some entertainment? “Captain Scratchy” is entertaining, simple to read, and undoubtedly will make you grin.
