Elrond is the King of Rivendell, The Last Homely House East of the Sea. He is another key character in Middle-earth who fought against Sauron in the Last Alliance of Elves and Men. His hometown, Rivendell, is also an important destination which hosts Bilbo and the Dwarves, the White Council and the foundation of the Fellowship of the Ring. #3. Gil-galad

Gil-galad had a short appearance, fighting alongside Elrond in the opening prologue of The Fellowship of the Ring. In the book, he was killed violently by Sauron. Beforehand, he was the mightiest High-King of the Elves, the leader of all elves in Middle-earth. As seen from the first episode of The Ring of Power, even Galadriel and Elrond have to bow down in front of him and obey his commands.#4. Sauron
