Super Combo Deluxe (Alan’s pen name) was born in the United States and is now working as a full-time web developer and a part-time artist. He has always been obsessed with making comics at art school. Before starting his own comic brand, he used to make videos about games and characters based on famous creators’ artworks, which he assumed was a lack of genuine fulfillment. Eventually, he turned to comics after watching a Loading Artist streamed on Twitch. “I started thinking how joyful it would be to create a comic.”
Alan’s inspiration for arts springs from everyday life that soon becomes one of his "wildest" outlets. This, somehow, goes as an obstacle against the will to specialize in his own works. However, he believes nothing would bring him down as long as those effortless jokes out there are still executed perfectly. What may surprise you is that his 5-year-old daughter, who always plays a marshmallow bouncing around her “giant monster” dad, plays the most important role in his creating process. “Her imagination is just so inventive and pure.”
Alan truly appreciates those who have left refreshing laughs on his comical artworks without throwing any toxic comments and hatred. Some of them even admitted to spitting out their drinks when reading his comics. “I’m able to alter someone's mood for the better, if only for a couple of seconds.” Well, those 4-5 times rewriting all the dialogues of each strip are worth it, aren’t they? He also paid great thanks to every gifted cartoonist whom he had got to know earlier. “I’d have never met them without my comic.”
