"They've Kind Of Lost In Touch With Their Workers": Man Shows His 'Goodie Bag' He Received From Burger King To Celebrate 27 Years Of Loyalty

After years of working for a company, as an employee, we all hope that we'll get something from the company for our loyalty. It can be a raise, a promotion, or just an appreciation and a vacation so that the employee can see that the company really cares. But, it seems that everything just doesn't work that way.
We expect that when we stay at a company for a long time, especially a big one, the longer we stay, the better they'll treat us. But, reality shows us the opposite, or at least, a counter perspective for us to reconsider our choice. Here we want to talk about the case of Kevin Ford, an employee of Burger King.
Let's be honest, dedicating 27 years of your life to one corporation is definitely a big deal. That's one-third of a person's life. 54-year-old cook and cashier - Kevin Ford - hasn't missed a single day of service in almost three decades. He recently showed off his work anniversary gifts in a video that went viral quickly after that for all the wrong reasons. In the clip, Ford was standing in the kitchen, going through a goodie bag given to him as a token of appreciation for 27 years of perfect attendance.
Do you know what he had in that bag? A movie ticket, a bag of Reese’s Pieces, a Starbucks tumbler, and two packs of Lifesavers — things that amount to virtually nothing. Like, after nearly three decades of working, what would you like to receive on your anniversary? Definitely not these, right? This whole incident profoundly resonated with many people who felt both saddened and enraged when being overlooked for their loyalty.
However, even though many felt let down to witness such a happening, Ford still showed his gratitude towards the gift from the corporation. What do you think about this? Let's read the full story, and let us know your thought in the comment section down below.

While he showed his gratitude for anything he got, he later shared his thought that it's almost always the case when working for big corporations. Maybe the corporation is just too big, and they have too many employees so they cannot take care of every single individual.

Yes, that's the most honest explanation for this. It showed a lack of even a simple appreciation for the amount of time an employee has spent working for a company. They just don't care. They need their employees to work and earn them profits, just that.

This man at least deserved a higher position in the corporation. They were acting like his 27 years were worth just a goodie bag? This is just sad.

The fact that the goodie bag contained such random things may be a cue of just how neglected the corporation is. It looks like they put absolutely zero effort into celebrating his 27th anniversary.

Working in the service industry is already tough. Getting paid a living wage for such a stressful, headache-inducing job. Well, people who don't work in the same position can never understand this hardship.
