Ginger the cat was sent to Greenside Animal Hospital after a storm when he was found soaked and desperately in need of help in a drain. The vet later put him in the isolation ward, which they thought was helpful for his recuperation and healing.
The cat was only 8 - 10 weeks old, extremely confused, shy, and wary about people taking care of him. But the care and attention of the staff filled him with love. He became more comfortable around people and tried giving more affection.
Anne was found by a trainer of a sports club when she was hiding away in a bush on the street. Taken to the hospital, Anne was covered with fleas and ticks, and she was extremely weak. She needed intense treatment, and until her health improved a little bit, the doctors moved her to the isolation ward.
One day, when the staff entered the ward to feed Ginger as usual, they were shocked to find the little cat nowhere. It turned out that he was nestling up with Anne in her own crate. The vet staff, Viljoen and Greube, said that they were wrong to underestimate the cat's ability to wriggle himself through the door to enter Annie's crate.
Quickly, the pair became attached to each other. Ginger spent most of her time in Anne's crate. The way they appeared to cherish one another showed that they were really meant together. Despite the staff's effort to separate them once, they are now still happy together.
