Members of a family support each other; that's how we do. However, each individual has their own life, desire, and worry. So at least try to take care of your own life first, be responsible. Don't make your problems your parents' or so. Just because you guys are a family doesn't mean other members must clean up after you.
Recently, one TikToker decided to share an emotional video explaining how much pressure, expectation, and responsibility her Asian parents put on her. She was the eldest sister in the family, currently living in the US. Since the day her parents sent her younger sister there, her tuition fees, living expenses, and even irresponsible shopping sprees, nights out, and whatnot was all on this big sister. And when it eventually became unbearable, she refused to pay for her sister extravagant lifestyle, wanting her to be at least more responsible. But, she instead got disowned by her parents, calling her ungrateful and stingy.

The author titled her video “Asian Parents Trauma,” she also said that she hesitated to post the video because she was told to never air dirty laundry for her whole life. But she needed a safe place to unload her burdens
